How to install wordpress in cPanel

  • WordPress is one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) for creating blogs, business websites, portfolios, and many other types of websites.
  • Many cPanel hosting providers include an automatic WordPress installer such as Softaculous Apps Installer, which makes it possible to install WordPress without manually creating and uploading all the required files.

Before Installing WordPress

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • An active domain name
  • A cPanel hosting account
  • Your cPanel login details
  • Your domain added to the hosting account
  • DNS pointing to the correct hosting server
  • SSL enabled if you want to use HTTPS

Step 1: Login to cPanel

  1. Open your cPanel login page:
  2. Enter your cPanel Username and Password, then click Log in.

Step 2: Find Softaculous Apps Installer

  1. After logging in to cPanel, scroll down and look for:
  2. Softaculous Apps Installer
  3. Depending on your cPanel configuration, it may appear under the Software section.
  4. You may also see a separate WordPress Manager by Softaculous option.

Step 3: Click Install Now

  1. On the WordPress page, click: Install Now
  2. Softaculous will open the WordPress installation form.

Step 4: Choose the WordPress Installation URL

  1. Under Software Setup, select the URL where you want WordPress installed.
  2. You may see options for:
  3. Choose Protocol
  4. Choose Domain
  5. In Directory
  6. For the protocol, if SSL is active on your domain, select: https:// or https://www.

Step 5: Create Your WordPress Admin Account

  1. Next, configure your WordPress administrator account.
  2. You will normally need to enter:
  3. Admin Username
  4. Admin Password
  5. Admin Email
  6. Choose a unique admin username.
  7. Avoid using an easily guessed username when possible.
  8. Create a strong password containing a combination of:
  9. Uppercase letters
  10. Lowercase letters
  11. Numbers
  12. Special characters
  13. Enter an email address you can access.

Step 6: Click Install

  1. Review your WordPress installation settings carefully.
  2. Make sure:
  3. Domain: Correct
  4. Protocol: Correct
  5. Directory: Correct
  6. Admin Email: Correct
  7. Admin Username: Correct
  8. Then click:
  9. Install
  10. Softaculous will begin installing WordPress.
  11. Do not close the page while the installation is running.

Step 7: Login to WordPress Admin

  1. Open: https://example.com/wp-admin/
  2. Enter the WordPress admin username and password you created during installation.
  3. Click: Log In
  • After successfully logging in, you will see the WordPress dashboard.
  • From here, you can manage:
  • Posts
  • Pages
  • Media
  • Themes
  • Plugins
  • Users
  • Settings
