How to Configure cPanel Email in Outlook.

  1. f you have created a professional email address in cPanel, such as: support@yourdomain.com
  2. you can configure it in Microsoft Outlook to send and receive emails directly from your computer.
What Do You Need?

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • A working cPanel email account
  • Your complete email address
  • Your email password
  • Incoming mail server hostname
  • Outgoing mail server hostname
  • IMAP/POP3 and SMTP port details
  • Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer

For most users, IMAP is recommended because it keeps email synchronized between Outlook, Webmail, phones, and other devices.

Step 1: Find Your Email Configuration Details in cPanel

  1. First, log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to: cPanel → Email Accounts
  3. Find the email account you want to configure.
  4. For example: support@yourdomain.com
  5. Click: Connect Devices
  6. Depending on your cPanel version, this may appear as Set Up Mail Client.

Step 2: Check the Mail Client Manual Settings

  1. On the Connect Devices page, look for the manual configuration settings.
  2. cPanel normally displays information for:
  3. Secure SSL/TLS Settings
  4. You may see details such as:
  5. Username: support@yourdomain.com
  6. Incoming Server: mail.yourdomain.com or the server hostname
  7. IMAP Port: 993
  8. POP3 Port: 99
  9. Outgoing Server / SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com or the server hostname
  10. SMTP Port: 465

Step 3: Open Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
  2. Go to the account settings area and choose the option to add a new email account.
  3. The exact menus can differ between new Outlook, classic Outlook, Outlook for Mac, and different Microsoft 365 versions.

Step 4: Enter Your cPanel Email Address

  1. Enter your complete cPanel email address.
  2. For example: support@yourdomain.com
  3. Continue to the next step.
  4. If Outlook automatically detects the account correctly, follow the prompts.
  5. If automatic configuration fails or you want to enter the server settings yourself, select the available manual setup option.

Step 5: Select IMAP

  1. For most users, select:
  2. IMAP
  3. IMAP keeps messages stored on the mail server and synchronizes them across multiple devices.
  4. For example, if you read an email in Outlook, its read status can also be synchronized with Webmail and your mobile device.

Step 6: Configure the Incoming Mail Server

  1. Enter the incoming mail settings shown in your cPanel Connect Devices page.
  2. A common secure IMAP configuration looks like:
  3. Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Port: 993
  5. Encryption: SSL/TLS
  6. Username: support@yourdomain.com
  7. Password: Your email account password
  8. Do not assume mail.yourdomain.com is correct for every server. Use the exact hostname provided by your hosting company or cPanel.

Step 7: Configure the Outgoing SMTP Server

  1. Next, enter the outgoing mail settings.
  2. A common secure configuration is:
  3. SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Port: 465
  5. Encryption: SSL/TLS
  6. Username: support@yourdomain.com
  7. Password: Your email password
  8. SMTP authentication should normally be enabled.
  9. Again, use the exact SMTP hostname, port, and encryption settings displayed in your cPanel account.

Step 8: Enter Your Email Password

  1. Outlook may ask you to enter the password for your mailbox.
  2. Enter the password associated with your cPanel email account.
  3. This is your email account password, not necessarily your cPanel login password.

Step 9: Complete the Account Setup

  1. After Outlook verifies the incoming and outgoing server settings, your email account should be added successfully.
  2. Complete the setup and open the mailbox.
